Do I need to reserve my spot online?

Yes. In high season all bookings and payments go through our website https://campegilsstadir.is/book-now/

What happens if I can’t make it the day I have booked for?

You can change it yourself according to the booking terms and conditions. If you still have a problem please contact us via e-mail at camping@egilsstadir.is with your booking number.

How can I pay for my stay?

You should pay through our website https://campegilsstadir.is/book-now/. If you have a problem with the booking or you want to pay with cash you can get help when the reception is open.
In wintertime there is also a possibility to pay through our self service POS (card terminal) or with cash in honesty box

Are the showers and toilets included in the price ?

Yes

Can I use the shower or toilet if I am NOT a campsite customer?

Yes. For Non-customers of the campsite the fee is 1000 ISK for showers and 100 ISK for WC. You can pay the fee in the honesty box or self service POSE if we are not in reception.

What is the price at your campsite?

Is your campsite open in wintertime?

Yes our campsite is open all year round with facilities open 24/7

Where is the campsite located ?

Approx. 200 meters from Route 1 in the center of Egilsstaðir in East Iceland

Is there any check-in or check-out time ?

In high season check-in time is from 3:00 pm. Check-out time is 12:00 pm the next day.
In low season there is much more flexibility and you can come on an arrival day when you want and leave the day after when it suits you best.

Is the electricity included in the price ?

No. It is a extra 1500 isk per day for each camper unit.

Does the campsite have have kitchen facilities?

Yes, it has both indoor and an outdoor kitchen facilities. A kettle, stoves, microwave and other kitchen equipment are on the spot. We also have a big indoor dining room.

Do you have washing and dryer machines at the campsite ? How much does it cost?

Yes, it cost 1000 ISK per load. You can pay in reception (when open). If we are not in reception you can pay in HONEYST boxes (with cash) or self service pose by reception. Detergent is included.

Is WIFI included in the price ?

Yes, you will find password at our camp. The best connection is near our main building.

Do you have a separate "only for tent area"?

Yes, it is located behind the main building and is marked as Zone D in our booking system

Are there any grocery stores close to the campsite ?

Yes. Easily found and close to campsite we have two supermarkets called Nettó and Bónus. Their opening hours you can find on https://bonus.is/opnunartimar/ and https://netto.is/verslun/egilsstadir/

. Is there any restaurants for lunch or dinner ?

You will find several restaurants in Egilsstaðir. Please have a look at: https://visitegilsstadir.is/en/wine-and-dine/

Is there any place I can buy a new gas cylinder?

You can buy it in the N1 or in the hardware store Husasmidjan which are both in walking distance from Camp Egilsstaðir.

Can I borrow a hair dryer at the campsite?

Yes, Please contact the reception.

Can I rent a towel?

Yes. Please contact the reception.

Can I rent a bicycle at Camp Egilsstadir?

Yes but please note that these are mostly city bikes, not designated mountain bikes. You can also fix your bike at the camp at the bike-fix-pole near the information bord outside.

Is there a camper lavatory disposal at the campsite?

Yes, we have a special dump site beside our trash containers.

Can I get fresh water to fill our water tank?

In summer you can fill up your watertank with a hose closed to our trash containers. In wintertime you can get water from a hose that is inside on the floor beside the washing machines. You can connect it to the sink and thread it out of the window.

Are there any facilities for disabled customers?

Yes, we have a shower and toilet especially adapted for customers with a disability. We are still sorry that we dont offer a smooth access through the main doors but hopefully we can soon improve that.

Is your campsite part of the camping card?

No it is not

How can I get to Camp Egilsstaðir?

By car:
From South: Höfn 262 km, Djúpivogur 161 km
From North: Akureyri 269 km, Myvatn 164 km
By bus: The bus stop is located directly at the campsite parking. Please note, there is no direct bus connection from South of Iceland
By plane: Direct flights from Reykjavik to Egilsstaðir (1-hour flight, most frequently 3 times a day)
